4F Thanks

We would like to thank most sincerely all those parents who have helped out with our 4F Friday’s.  We feel that using our Feet for Fuel each Friday morning is a very worthwhile exercise for everyone but it would  be very difficult to accomplish with the assistance of others.  So to all who walked and encouraged our pupils to walk we extend our heartfelt thanks and take this opportunity to wish you and yours a Happy & Healthy Christmas and look forward to your continued co-operation in 2013.

4th Green Flag

We are proud to announce the achievement of our 4th Green Flag.  A lot of effort,  hard work and commitment  was necessary to accomplish this and we say a huge thank you to our hard working committee.

Here are some of the committee members  being presented with the flag in The Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone in May 2012.

Well done to all involved!

Awards Day June 2012

Each year the “Michael English Award for Contribution to School Life” is presented to a 5th class pupil who has shown leadership, responsibility and good example. Here is this years recipient with Fr. Liam Farrell who presented the award after our “Evensong” performance in St. Ciaran’s Church on June 8th.

We are always sorry to say goodbye to our 6th class. This year they were given book vouchers by the Parent’s Association.

Here they are with Mrs. Gráinne Kearney who made the presentation.

Good luck in your new schools.

We will miss you all!

Incredible Edibles

For the past 3 years the junior and senior infant classes have planted seeds and grown vegetables. This year we planted turnips, carrots, lettuce, potatoes and two strawberry plants. Also we each planted a nasturtium seed in our own little pot. When the seedlings are ready we hope to plant them out in our raised beds and watch them grow. Our plan is to have some vegetables or potatoes for everyone to take home!
